GEORGE GETS THE ROYAL HONOR — BUT CAMILLA’S OWN GRANDSON IS LEFT OUT? WHY THE SNUB IS RAISING EYEBROWS

Queen Camilla's grandson snubbed from Prince George's ceremony

Prince George has just taken another major step toward the future everyone knows is waiting for him.

And once again, the contrast with Queen Camilla’s family is impossible for royal watchers to ignore.

At 13, George has begun life at Eton College — the same prestigious school attended by his father, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry. He is also second in line to the British throne, behind William.

But while George’s path is increasingly defined by his future role inside the monarchy, Camilla’s grandchildren occupy a completely different position.

That difference has sparked a question that keeps coming back:

When the Royal Family decides who gets a place in the spotlight, is George’s future status already putting him in a completely different category from Camilla’s own grandchildren?

And that is where the “snub” story becomes much more complicated.

George’s Future Is Already Being Treated Differently

George is not simply another royal child.

He is the eldest child of William and Catherine, and the official Royal Family website identifies him as second in line to the throne.

That constitutional position follows him everywhere.

It is why his education attracts international attention.

It is why his public appearances are carefully managed.

And it is why even apparently ordinary milestones can carry a deeper royal significance.

His move to Eton in September is a perfect example.

Reuters reported that George began at the famous boarding school on September 8, following in the footsteps of both William and Harry.

For most teenagers, changing schools is simply a family decision.

For George, almost every major step is also part of preparing for a future that could eventually place him on the throne.

That is the privilege — and the burden — that comes with being the direct heir’s eldest son.

So What About Camilla’s Grandson?

This is where the viral “snub” narrative starts gaining traction.

Camilla has several grandchildren through her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles.

They are part of the extended royal family by marriage, but they are not themselves members of the line of succession simply because Camilla became Queen.

That distinction was already visible at Charles and Camilla’s 2023 Coronation.

George served as one of King Charles’s Pages of Honour, while three of Camilla’s grandsons — Gus and Louis Lopes and Freddy Parker Bowles — served as Pages associated with the Queen.

In other words, the Royal Family has already demonstrated that Camilla’s grandchildren can be given prominent ceremonial roles.

But those roles do not transform them into constitutional royals.

And that distinction is crucial.

The “Royal Honor” May Not Mean What Viral Headlines Suggest

Online stories have recently presented the situation as though George received some new royal title or special honor while Camilla’s grandson was deliberately excluded.

That is a much stronger claim than the available evidence supports.

One viral video published in August framed the story as George receiving a “royal title” while Camilla’s grandson was ignored, while another claimed Camilla was furious over the alleged decision. Both descriptions themselves acknowledge that the private reactions and Palace decisions were speculative.

There is currently no reliable evidence of a new official decision stripping Camilla’s grandson of a royal title or banning him from royal events.

A similar claim circulated in 2025, alleging that William had stripped one of Camilla’s grandsons of a royal title after an alleged bullying incident involving George.

Fact-checking found no credible news reporting to support that story and traced it primarily to viral YouTube content.

So the real story is less explosive — but arguably more revealing.

George does not need a newly invented title to stand apart.

His position in the succession already does that.

George Has Something Camilla’s Grandchildren Cannot Inherit

The difference comes down to one word:

succession.

George was born into the direct line leading toward the throne.

Camilla’s grandchildren were not.

That does not make them less important as members of the extended family.

But it means their relationship with the institution is fundamentally different.

George is being prepared for a potential constitutional role.

Camilla’s grandchildren are members of the family surrounding that institution.

That distinction helps explain why George’s milestones attract a level of attention that Camilla’s grandchildren generally do not.

And it may also explain why some royal watchers interpret every difference as a possible “snub.”

The Coronation Already Told Us Something Important

There is actually an interesting precedent.

At the 2023 Coronation, George and Camilla’s grandsons appeared together in ceremonial roles.

George served as a Page of Honour for the King.

Camilla’s grandsons Gus, Louis and Freddy also took part in the ceremony as Pages associated with the Queen.

That moment showed something unusual about the modern monarchy.

Charles and Camilla were able to bring two different family branches into one of the most important royal ceremonies in generations.

But they did not erase the distinction between them.

George remained the future king's eldest son.

Camilla's grandchildren remained members of the extended family.

The blended family was visible.

The constitutional hierarchy remained intact.

And That May Be Why The Latest “Snub” Feels So Personal

There is an emotional layer to this story that official royal documents cannot capture.

Camilla is not simply Queen.

She is also a grandmother.

Her grandchildren have appeared beside her at major royal events, including the Coronation.

So whenever George receives another major milestone connected to his future, comparisons are almost inevitable.

George gets Eton.

George gets intense attention over his future.

George is constantly described in terms of succession.

Meanwhile, Camilla’s grandchildren can be close to the monarchy without being part of its constitutional core.

That difference could feel enormous from the outside.

But it does not automatically mean Camilla or her family has been deliberately snubbed.

The Real Question Is What Happens Under William

This is where the story becomes much more interesting.

Charles is King now.

William is the heir.

George is second in line.

And George’s place becomes even more significant because his future role is tied directly to William’s eventual reign.

That means the monarchy’s next generation is already taking shape.

Camilla’s grandchildren, meanwhile, are not positioned to inherit the Crown through her.

So as William’s children grow older, the contrast between the two branches of the family is likely to become increasingly visible.

Not because someone necessarily wants to exclude Camilla’s family.

But because the constitutional structure itself creates different paths.

Could Camilla’s Grandson Ever Receive the Same Recognition?

There is no reason to assume that Camilla’s grandchildren cannot receive important ceremonial or public roles.

The Coronation already demonstrated otherwise.

Three of her grandsons were given visible positions during one of the most historic days of Charles’s reign.

But there is a limit to what ceremonial recognition can change.

A Page of Honour can be appointed.

A royal event can include a grandchild.

A family member can stand beside the King or Queen.

None of those things automatically changes the line of succession.

And that is the fundamental difference between George and Camilla’s grandchildren.

So Was There Really a “Snub”?

That depends on what you mean by “snub.”

If the claim is that Camilla’s grandson was secretly stripped of a royal title or formally banned from royal events, there is no reliable evidence supporting it.

But if the question is whether George is being prepared for a future role that Camilla’s grandchildren simply cannot inherit, the answer is much clearer.

Yes — because George occupies a unique constitutional position.

He is not receiving special treatment merely because he is Charles’s grandson.

He is being watched because he is the future King’s eldest son and second in line to the throne.

That is why his every milestone can look like a royal honor.

And that may be the real story behind the viral “snub.”

The monarchy is not necessarily choosing George over Camilla’s grandson.

It may simply be showing the world, once again, which branch carries the succession — and which branch belongs to the wider royal family.

And as George grows older, that distinction is only going to become harder to ignore.
