“YOU’RE DESPICABLE!” — Lindsay Clancy’s Lawyer FIRES BACK at Ted Cruz Over “Monster” Remark

“YOU’RE DESPICABLE!” — Lindsay Clancy’s Lawyer FIRES BACK at Ted Cruz Over “Monster” Remark

Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney has sharply rebuked Sen. Ted Cruz after the Texas Republican described the Massachusetts mother as a “monster” following a mistrial in the deaths of her three children.

Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, accused Cruz of turning a complex mental-health case into political “rage bait” after the senator publicly condemned Clancy and suggested she should face life in prison or even death.

In a clip from Newsmax, Cruz compared the case to the O.J. Simpson trial and called Clancy a “monster of a mother,” saying there was no dispute that she killed her three children.

“In this instance, there is no dispute that this monster of a mother murdered all three children,” Cruz said. He also described the killings in graphic terms and argued that someone who murders three children should, at minimum, spend the rest of their life in prison.

Cruz went further, saying that if a “psychopath” murders three children, the person should face life imprisonment “if not go to death row.”

Reddington responded Thursday with a blistering statement aimed directly at the senator.

“You clearly do not come close to understanding the basic concept of postpartum psychosis. Quite frankly, that is not surprising,” Reddington wrote.

The defense attorney accused Cruz of making inflammatory comments to appeal to his political supporters rather than addressing the mental-health issues at the center of Clancy’s trial.

Reddington said Clancy had “reached out repeatedly for help” as she experienced postpartum depression that allegedly progressed to mania and psychosis.

“You obviously do not know the first thing about mental health or the woeful state of medical and psychiatric care in our country,” Reddington wrote. “Instead of making a rational observation, you call for her execution.”

“You are, as I said, despicable,” he added, challenging Cruz to debate the issue publicly.
